Error Message/ Question:
Versacheck Data File - Is the current version of Versacheck compatible with legacy data files?
Symptom:
You would like to use a new version of Versacheck with an old or previous database (*.VDF) file
Cause:
Upgrading from an old version to a new version
Resolution:
Yes, the current version of Versacheck will update a legacy database the first time you open it.
Current versions of Versacheck should open a database as old as 2006. As long as it is a *.VDF file it should work.
Some, very old or very large files can take quite a while to update that first time it opens. I just did one that took 15 minutes.
When you open your data file the first time you will receive a notice "Processing database". Let this finish.

If the database gets corrupted, (can happen if you cancel the processing) then we may be able to repair it. You would have to email it to support and request a repair. Contact support@Versacheck.com or anyone in support for directions.
